The arrangements for booking in were emailed before our arrival and required the use of key codes to enter the building. But everything was straightforward. We met the caretaker the following morning and he was both friendly and helpful. Breakfast was continental and was both tasty and sufficient. Because the weather was good, we were able to eat it at a table provided outside. The site was secluded and peaceful with a large garden to wander around. The village itself is quiet and attractive with several thatched cottages yet only a short distance from a major trunk road. The site is less than a 20 minute drive from a Park and Ride hub near Cambridge and we conveniently reached our destination in the centre of the city.

We booked 4 rooms as were visiting the village for funeral. Each room was exactly as described, and as in the photograph. Everything is immaculate & warm & cosy. The owners were v thoughtful checking my requirements for each room, and agreed we could leave cars there whilst at funeral etc. One of my group had mislaid mobile but few texts in morning it was easily located in his room for us. So the communication & assistance was perfect! Breakfast was spot on, huge bowl of assorted chopped fruit is provided & warm toast. We ordered breakfast for various times & that was not a problem either. Thankyou as it made a difference to an emotional visit to the village.

We always look forward to staying at The Lodge as we feel so at home there. It has a peaceful & tranquil atmosphere which is what we need after a long drive to visit family in the area. Maria is always very welcoming & on hand to assist if the occasion arises & the breakfast on a tray delivered to your room is much healthier than most places serve. We have stayed several times now & will not hesitate to stay again in the future.

Wonderful accommodation in a lovely setting. Quiet, peaceful, clean and comfortable. Host was very helpful and friendly. We couldn't have asked for a better introduction to the area. We didn't take advantage of the breakfast so are unable to give feedback on what was on offer. However, if the accommodation and setting is anything to go by then we are sure it would be equally lovely.

Location was perfect as we wanted to see the Hemingford Grey Manor as we are big fans of the Green Knowe books by Lucy Boston (that tour by Dianna was brilliant!). Maria was so helpful and friendly, the rooms were spotless and the shower pressure the best we've seen! Great to have free parking included and everything is presented beautifully.
